The Secret Language of Money: How to Make Smarter Financial Decisions and Live a Richer Life
MgH | 2009 | ISBN: 0071623396 | 288 pages | PDF | 12 MB
If money were about math, none of us would be carrying any debt.
The numbers are simple. What’s complicated is what we do with money. We use money to soo the our feelings and buy respect, to show how much we care or how little. We don’t simply earn, save, and spend money: we flirt with it, crave it, and scorn it; we punish and reward ourselves with it.

Propaganda-A Secret Wish (Deluxe Edition) 2CD 2010-JUST
Digitally remastered deluxe two CD 25th Anniversary edition of the Synth band’s 1985 debut including a plethora of bonus material. Propaganda were a D?sseldorf band, and with hindsight you can see them as the halfway point between the city’s most famous sons Kraftwerk and the common European language of Techno-Pop that flourished in Ralf and Flor ian’s wake. But Propaganda were pipe-banging confrontationalists before they became a waking Pop dream. Ralf D”rper, a bank employee, music writer and member of D?sseldorf Industrial-Electronic band Die Krupps, founded Propaganda with vocalist Claudia Brucken, part-time DJ Andreas Thein and jeweler/goldsmith Susanne Freytag. None was a music ian in the conventional sense but they made a demo version of ‘Discipline’ by Throbbing Gristle which found its way to NME writer Paul Morley, then in the process of setting up ZTT with Trevor Horn and Jill Sinclair. The rest is history.

Language Interrupted: Signs of Non-Native Acquisition in Standard Language Grammars Oxford University Press, USA | 2007 | ISBN: 0195309804 | 304 pages | PDF | 12 MB Foreigners often say that English language is "easy." A language like Spanish is challenging in its variety of verb endings (the verb speak is conjugated hablo, hablas, hablamos), and gender for nouns, whereas English is more straight forward (I speak, you speak, we speak). But linguists generally swat down claims that certain languages are "easier" than others, since it is assumed all languages are complex to the same degree. For example, they will point to English’s use of the word "do" -- Do you know French? This usage is counter-intuitive and difficult for non-native speakers. Linguist John McWhorter agrees that all languages are complex, but questions whether or not they are all equally complex.

Classroom Instruction That Works With English Language Learners
Association for Supervision & Curriculum Deve | 2006 | ISBN: 1416603905 | 144 pages | PDF | 14 MB
As more and more English language learners (ELLs) are included in mainstream classrooms, what can we do to ensure that they understand academic content and develop their English language skills? To answer this question, authors Jane Hill and Kathleen Flynn have examined decades of research, interviewed mainstream teachers with ELLs in their classrooms, and reviewed the classroom recommendations from Marzano, Pickering, and Pollock s seminal Classroom Instruction That Works (2001) through an ELL lens. The result is Classroom Instruction That Works with English Language Learners a comprehensive guide to helping elementary school students at all levels of English language acquisition succeed.
It's Not What You Sign, It's How You Sign It: Politeness in American Sign Language
Publisher: Gallaudet University Press | ISBN: 1563683520 | edition 2007 | PDF | 248 pages | 12 mb
The general stereotype regarding interaction between American Sign Language and English is a model of oversimplification: ASL signers are direct and English speakers are indirect. Jack Hoza’s study It’s Not What You Sign, It’s How You Sign It: Politeness in American Sign Language upends this common impression through an in-depth comparison of the communication styles between these two language communities. Hoza investigates relevant social variables in specific contexts and explores the particular linguistic strategies ASL signers and English speakers employ when they interact in these contexts.
